Terms of use
The short version. The full keyboard is free. Klavette Pro is a paid upgrade bought through Apple. Yearly and monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel in your Apple Account settings, and Apple handles refunds. The suggestions can be wrong, so check what you send.
1. Agreement and Apple's standard terms
By installing or using Klavette you agree to these terms. Klavette is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"). These terms add to the Apple EULA. If they conflict, the Apple EULA wins for anything it covers. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
2. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Klavette on Apple devices that you own or control, as the Apple EULA allows. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell Klavette, or remove notices from it, except where the law says you may.
3. Free and Klavette Pro
The full keyboard (including glide typing, autocorrect, emoji, AutoFill, macros and learning), the lessons and typing practice are free. Klavette Pro unlocks the one-row Mini keyboard in every app, and docking to the left or right and Split on iPad and the unfolded iPhone Duo. Which features sit in Free and which in Pro is shown in the app and on the website. We may move new features into either group, but we will not take away something you have already paid for.
4. Subscription terms
Klavette Pro is offered as a subscription in two lengths, and as a one-time purchase (section 5). The price, length and any free trial are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
- Yearly: US$34.99 per year (S$47.98 in Singapore), with a 2-week free trial for new subscribers.
- Monthly: US$4.99 per month (S$6.98 in Singapore).
- Other countries: you pay Apple's price for your country, shown at checkout. Taxes may apply.
Payment and renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically for another period of the same length at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Free trial
The yearly plan starts with a 2-week free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid yearly subscription and your Apple Account is charged. A free trial is available once per Apple Account, as Apple determines. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Cancelling
Cancel any time in Settings on your iPhone or iPad: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Klavette. You can also use apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. After you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you already paid for, and then Klavette returns to the free keyboard. Your settings and learned words stay.
Refunds
Apple handles all payments, so Apple handles refunds. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, because we do not receive your payment details.
Price changes
If we change a subscription price, Apple will tell you and, where the law or Apple's rules require it, ask for your consent before the new price applies to you. If you do nothing and consent is required, the subscription ends instead of renewing at the new price.
Restoring and sharing
Pro follows your Apple Account. Use Restore Purchases in the app on a new device. Family Sharing is not available for Klavette Pro.
5. Lifetime purchase
Lifetime (US$89.99, S$127.98 in Singapore) is a one-time purchase that unlocks Klavette Pro for as long as Klavette is offered on the App Store. It does not renew. It is tied to your Apple Account, can be restored on your devices with Restore Purchases, and cannot be shared with Family Sharing. Refunds are handled by Apple, as in section 4.
6. Gift and discount codes
Gift and discount codes are Apple offer codes. Redeem them in the app or in the App Store. Apple's offer code terms apply, including any expiry date and eligibility rules shown with the code.
7. Using the keyboard
- Suggestions and corrections are produced automatically and can be wrong. You are responsible for the text you send, so check it before you do.
- Do not use Klavette to break the law, to harm others, or to interfere with the app, its servers or anyone else's use of it.
- Klavette is English only for now.
- Klavette is not designed for use where a wrong word could cause serious harm, such as emergency or safety-critical messages.
8. Optional uploads
You can choose to upload your typing records so we can improve the keyboard. If you do, you give us permission to store and use them for that purpose, as the privacy policy describes. We delete each upload automatically 12 months after you upload it, and you can ask us to delete your uploads sooner.
9. Changes to Klavette and these terms
We may update or discontinue features, and we may update these terms. If a change is material we will say so on this page and update the effective date. If you keep using Klavette after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using Klavette and cancel any subscription.
10. No guarantees
Klavette is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be error-free, always available, or right about any particular word, and we exclude all warranties not set out in these terms. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
11. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or opportunity arising from your use of Klavette. Our total liability to you for any claim about Klavette is limited to the amount you paid us through the App Store for Klavette Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have non-exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your home courts. Apple's EULA has its own governing law for matters it covers.
